The device pictured below is Lenovo’s newest piece of machinery, the U1, a netbook with a removable tablet incorporated. This original device sports a convertible design, rounded edges and it runs Windows 7, at least in its complete version. Once you detach the tablet side, you’ll use it ARM CPU to run a lighter Linux.
Lenovo U1’s tablet segment weighs 1.6 pounds, it relies on a 1 GHz Snapdragon CPU, packs 512MB DDR1 RAM and 16GB of SSD memory. The dock section weighs 3.8 pounds (with the tablet attached), relies on an Intel Core2 Duo U4100 CPU and sports 4GB DDR3 RAM and 128GB SSD memory.
U1 will have a starting price of $1,000 and we’ll see it being showcased at CES 2010.
