Apple launched a new iPad Mini back at the end of 2021. Ever since the iPad Mini 6 we haven’t seen a trace of an update from the Cupertino giant. Now one could be incoming, as the iPad Mini 7 launch time frame has leaked.

The info comes from reputed analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, from TF International Securities. The analyst revealed in a set of tweets that the future mini iPad will have a brand new CPU as its selling point. The current iPad Mini has an 8.3 inch screen, an Apple A15 Bionic CPU, an USB-C port and also a power button with Touch ID. It also received 5G support on cellular models.

It starts at $499 in the USA, with 64 GB of storage. The time frame for the debut could be late 2023 or early 2024. Kuo also believes that Apple could replace the iPad mini with a foldable, but that only happens in 2025. Considering the expert mentioned a CPU bump, it’s likely we will see a jump from Apple A15 to an Apple M series chip.

Maybe the M1, perhaps the M2, or even a brand new M3. This would make the new device a beast processing-wise, but I’m also curious about power usage. The screen may be kept at 8.3 inches, but it could get ProMotion and 120 Hz refresh rate.
