While the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was unveiled at MWC and is supposed to take the Galaxy Tab series to a new level, there’s also another new model in town, the Galaxy Tab 8.9. This unit fits right between the 7 and 10 inch one and was showcased together with the 10 incher during this week’s CTIA 2011 event in Orlando.
Both models run Android 3.0 Honeycomb, rely on dual core 1GHz processors and beat the iPad 2 in thickness, being 0.2mm thinner at 8.6mm. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 uses the OS with the TouchWiz UI, that includes Live Panel and Mini Apps Tray as essential features. The 10 inch model will hit the US on June 8, priced at $499 for the 16GB version and $599 for the 32GB version.
