Samsung may have launched quite a few smartphones this year, but they’ve been holding out on tablets for a bit. We’ve seen leaks and rumors concerning a Tab S7 Lite, Tab S8e and so forth, but only the Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite had solid leaks. Now the device is back, after having been certified by TENAA in China, which reveals new specs for it.
The newcomer appears on TENAA with a rather large 5000 mAh battery and Android 11 preinstalled. It probably has One UI 3.1 on top and we also learn that the slate has the codename SM-T225C and measures 212.5 x 124.7 x 8 mm. Its battery capacity is quite fine for an 8.7 inch diagonal. We do expect a resolution closer to HD rather than FHD. A 15W charger in the box would be welcome, if not more. The pics reveal a singular back camera and also a singular front camera. According to previous leaks, the new smartphone will be based on a MediaTek Helio P22T processor, an octa core unit with Cortex-A53 cores.
It was already spotted on GeekBench, with 840 points in the Single Core test and 3838 in the multi core one. It also brings 3 GB of RAM, at least 32 GB of storage, if not 64 GB and we’ll also probably see a microSD card slot. I find it hard to believe that we’re about to get any camera resolution above 8 MP for the main camera. The new tablet is the sort of product to be priced at $200, perhaps more in a 4G LTE version. The usual specs for nowadays world should be in the mix: Digital Wellbeing, Kids Mode and blue light filter.
