Straight out of the world of “Dirty Jobs” comes the latest Dell tablet, the Dell Latitude 7220 Rugged Extreme. This device is priced at at around $1990 and it’s a rugged beast meant for extreme environments. Let’s see what it has to offer.

The new device can survive extreme weather conditions and it’s a pretty powerful piece of kit. It’s equipped with an Intel Core CPU, of the 8th gen, going up to a Core i7-8665U, clocked up to 4.8 GHz. There’s also 8 or 16 GB of RAM inside and up to 2 TB of SSD storage. Latitude 7220 also relies on modern connectivity options, like WiFi 802.11 ax and WiFi 6.

There’s also a Full HD screen in the mix, with an 11.6 inch diagonal and a peak brightness of 1000 nits, as well as anti smudge and anti glare. The screen can work even with gloves on and even with wet hands or fingers. You can easily use this machine in the Arctic, as it can take up to minus 20 degrees Fahrenheit, but also extreme heat, like 145 degrees.

It’s IP65 rated for water and dirt protection, plus dust. When it comes to drops, it withstands a drop from 4 ft. Dell also bundles a dedicated GPS card, optional LTE connectivity and an optional fingerprint reader, too, plus a Windows Hello IR camera.
