Chrome OS tablets have become a thing ever since 2018, with companies like Acer, ASUS, CTL and Google debuting a unit each, but all of those were mainstream consumer products. Now we also have one from the industrial department: AOPEN Chromebook Commercial Tab.

The device is a rugged machine, with a 9.7 inchs screen and it’s meant to withstand drops from up to 4 feet, up to 26 times. There’s a hand strap in the mix and a VESA compatible case, used to mount the tablet, plus a Wacom stylus for the writing and drawing tasks. The specs are rather budget-sounding, in spite of the niche this device covers.

Here’s the specs list:

  • Display: 9.7 inch, 2560 x 1536 pixels, IPS LCD
  • RAM: 4 GB LPDDR3
  • CPU: Rockchip RK3399 hexa core CPU
  • Storage: 32 GB, eMMC 5.1, microSD
  • Camera: Back: 5 MP; Front: 2 MP
  • Connectivity: WiFi ac, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C 3.0, audio jack
  • Others: stereo speakers

While we don’t have details about the battery, we do know that it should last for up to 10 hours on a charge. AOPEN didn’t provide a price tag for the device, but since it’s for companies, you may contact them for a quote.
