Samsung has finally unveiled its oft leaked tablet, the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2019), that comes with an 8 inch screen. The device is everything we expected it to be and we detail it below.

Inside the slate we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 429 CPU, together with 2 GB of RAM. There’s also 32 GB of storage, coupled with a microSD card slot, while the OS is Android Pie. The screen is an 8 inch TFT with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and a 16:10 aspect ratio. It’s all crammed in a metallic body, that weighs 345 grams and measures 8 mm in thickness.

There are stereo speakers here, which is a nice surprise and the cameras are decent: 8 MP back, 2 MP front. Available in black and silver, the product also packs a 5100 mAh battery and an old school microUSB port for charging it. Samsung also throws in a bundled of 2 months free YouTube Premium and 3 months of free Spotify Premium subscriptions.

The device doesn’t have a price or launch date, but I suspect it’s priced below $300. We should also get a the new KidsHome mode and Family Share feature. Aside from the WiFi version, there will also be a LTE one.
