RedMagic’s next software release is set to bring Android 17 and several gaming-focused changes to older RedMagic hardware, including two gaming tablets. RedMagic OS 12 debuted on the RedMagic 12 Pro+, and the company has now published a rollout calendar for previously released devices in China.
Gaming tablet updates begin in January
The first tablet in the plan is the RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro, which is due to receive RedMagic OS 12 in January 2027. The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro follows in March 2027. For players who use these larger displays for mobile games, console streaming, or cloud gaming, the update is expected to add RedMagic’s redesigned Game Space and X-Gravity 3.0 features.
RedMagic’s China rollout schedule runs through April 2027:
- RedMagic 11 Pro — December 2026
- RedMagic 11S Pro — December 2026
- RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro — January 2027
- RedMagic 10 Pro — March 2027
- RedMagic 10S Pro — March 2027
- RedMagic 11 Air — March 2027
- RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro — March 2027
- RedMagic 10 Air — April 2027
A more adaptive gaming interface
RedMagic OS 12 introduces a refreshed interface with a prominent clock design, along with AI features such as AI Magic Island and an AI assistant with a memory function. RedMagic also says the software will support one-tap file transfers to Apple devices, aiming to make cross-platform sharing easier.
For gaming, Game Space is getting an adaptive design that changes its appearance depending on the game being played. An esports training area will add mini-games intended to practice precision and reaction time. X-Gravity 3.0, meanwhile, is positioned around cloud gaming, console streaming, and playing mobile titles on larger screens.
This timetable applies only to devices in China. RedMagic has not announced when RedMagic OS 12 will reach globally sold models, so U.S. availability and eligibility remain unconfirmed. The two tablets are among the more notable devices in the plan, particularly for users who treat a gaming tablet as a larger-screen hub for streamed and mobile games.
