Samsung is prepping its fall lineup and some of the devices have leaked this week. The Gear S4, Tab S4 and now a new Galaxy Book Windows tablet has been certified. It’ll most likely appear at IFA 2018 at the end of August and start of September. Let’s see what we know about the Samsung Galaxy Book 2018.
The new Galaxy Book model has been approved by the EEC and it’s most likely the Galaxy Book Windows 2 in 1 tablet successor. The EEC is a Russian authority, that certified a bunch of versions of the device, like SM-W737, SM-W738 and derived versions, like the SM-W737A, SM-W737N and SM-W737V and SM-W738N. The previous model was a 12 inch Galaxy Book Windows 2 in 1 PC and it was introduced at MWC 2017.
It was a successor to the Galaxy Tab Pro S (SM-W700). The Galaxy Book runs on Windows 10 Home and it was based on an Intel Core i5 CPU. It also has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of SSD storage. We expect an upgrade to the Core i7 generation 8, extra storage and maybe even more RAM. WiFi and LTE models will be available and word’s out that Samsung is going to come up with two versions of diagonal: 10.6 inch and 12 inch.
We also expect the Galaxy Tab S4 to debut soon, since its support page is already up (and it leaked in pictures, specs, certifications). Samsung has an Unpacked event planned for August 9th, so we may also see some of these products there, although the star of the show will be the Galaxy Note 9. Expect the Galaxy Book 2018 to also come with an S Pen, a new gen one similar to the Note 9 model. Also, the price will be a bit steep, perhaps in the $1000 range or more.
