There’s been no shortage of Chromebooks over the past year, but ASUS took things up a notch when they debuted a few months ago the Chromebook Flip. After hitting Japan last month it now goes live in USA. Let’s refresh our memory on this classy Chromebook.
The full name of the product is ASUS Chromebook Flip C101 and it weighs just 2 lbs, while also sporting a full metal body. Since it’s a “flip” device, it obviously also turns into a tablet, not only a laptop. ASUS Chromebook Flip packs a 10.1 inch display with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution, plus an OP1 processor, which is an ARM Rockchip 3399 unit. Specs include 4 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage too.
On the connectivity front there’s Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, two USB Type-C ports and one USB 2.0 port too. A microSD card slot is also here, plus a 3.5 mm audio jack. ASUS also promises a battery life of up to 9 hours on a charge. ASUS Chromebook Flip runs Android apps of course, like the other new Chromebooks. Basically, if you were to do nitpicking, you’d say that only the CPU is the drawback here.
