We wrote about the Chuwi LapBook Air ever since it was just a teaser and a set of renders and now it’s ready for prime time. Shown at IFA 2017, the device is now up for preorder at $429 or 429 euro, depending on where you live.
You can preorder the device here and it’s also supposed to get a special initial discount, of $50 via coupon. This takes the price down to $379. A special giveaway will also be active from September 20th. The Chuwi LapBook Air is promoted as a MacBook-style device, with a 1.3 kilogram weight and just 6 mm thickness.
It’s got a 14.1 inch IPS fully laminated screen with 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and high brightness. It also brings a matte texture and relies on OGS tech for a whole piece bezel less glass panel upfront. The keyboard has its own backlighting and specs include an Apollo Lake N3450 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of SSD storage.
Windows 10 is the OS of choice and the battery capacity is 33.7 Wh. Dual band WiFi also makes the cut, as well as dual mic noise reduction tech and stereo speakers. A fully specced machine I’d say, for a not bad price, not bad at all.
