Kurio just debuted not only a sturdy Android slate for kids, but also the Kurio Smart model pictured below. This is a 2 in 1 device, with McAfee Antivirus included. The tablet is priced at an affordable $199.99 price tag and comes with an Office 365 one year subscription.
There are obvious parental controls here and web access limitations, while the device’s specs include an 8.9 inch display with a 1200 x 800 pixel resolution, plus an Intel Bay Trail Z3735G quad core processor, with 3D graphics chip, as well as 1 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. We’ve also got a microSD card slot on board with support for up to 64 GB expandable memory.
The device packs a 2 megapixel rear camera, a 0.3 MP front shooter and a 4900 mAh battery. Bluetooth 4.0 and WiFi are included here, plus Windows 8.1 as the OS, which frankly is a bit of a letdown, since Windows 10 has been available for a bit. Kurio Smart brings $200 worth of content in preinstalled apps and games, by the way. You can get it here.
