Micromax has launched a new tablet, the Canvas Tab P666 model, that doesn’t stand out much through its design. This device adopts a rectangular format, with a focus on landscape and a display that seems to adopt the widescreen format.
The P666 is made of aluminum and glass and it’s reasonably thin, at 7.9 mm. It packs an 8 inch IPS screen with a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution and it’s a bit of a departure from the Cortex A7-based P650 model. Canvas Tab P666 runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and packs 8 GB of storage, a microSD card slot, 1 GB of RAM and a 5 megapixel back camera, plus a 2 MP selfie shooter.
It also has Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and 3G connectivity, plus a 4400 mAh battery. I see there’s a small etching at the top part of the device when held in portrait mode. If I’m not mistaking that looks like a speaker, making me believe this unit also does phone calls, but I could be mistaking.
