It appears that the HP Slate 8 Pro tablet model, that already sells for $310 in the US is about to have a brother. A model dubbed HP Slate 8 Pro 7650 just hit the FCC and the sketch below confirms it.
The HP Slate 8 Pro is an 8 inch 1600 x 1200 pixel slate, with an Nvidia Tegra 4 CPU and Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. It also has 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB of storage and it’s getting ready for a related unit soon. HP Slate 8 Pro 7650 is pretty much a mystery, aside from the recent FCC approval. The new model runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat and it got certification for wireless use.
Could this be simply a LTE version of the initial slate, or maybe a model with a bump in CPU and RAM? Well, just have to wait and see, especially considering that Nvidia powered devices haven’t exactly been popular over the past months…
