After Xiaomi launched the Red Rice Note phablet, it seems that the company it’s receiving orders after orders for this cheap phablet that costs only $160. We find out that the device was sold in almost 300.000 units in just 34 minutes after the launch, and that more than 15 million people preordered it.

The Xiaomi Red Rice Note packs a 5.5 inch HD IPS display, an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor, 1 or 2 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5 megapixel front facing camera. It also comes with a large 3200 mAh battery, and Android 4.2 JellyBean with the custom MIUI V5 interface.

It seems that cheap devices are the ones that are becoming more and more popular, while people are starting to leave their favourite smartphone manufacturers behind and choose a device that offfers great quality, great performance and not at least, a great price.
