Xiaomi just debuted a Harry Potter version of its Redmi Pad 2 Pro tablet in China, which has the same hardware as the Redmi Pad 2 Pro. That one debuted globally last year, in September. Let’s see what’s new.
The tablet comes with the same LCD display, a 12.1 inch panel with a 2560 x 1600 pixel resolution. It also has a 16:10 aspect ratio and 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel provides 600 nits of brightness and uses Gorilla Glass 3 for protection. The touch sampling rate is 360 Hz and the device also supports stylus input. It has a special CHina Quality Certification Center Visual Dimension S++ rating and TUV Rheinland tooo.

Those are certifications for low blue light, flicker free and rhythm friendly viewing. The 12 GB RAM, 256 GB storage version includes a soft light screen. The tablet integrates a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, based on TSMC technology. It’s an octa core processor, clocked up to 2.7 Hz and paired with an Adreno 810 GPU. Then there’s 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

The storage expansion is available with up to 2 TB via microSD card. The battery is a 12.000 mAh unit, with 33W fast charging. On the fun side, we have four speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res Audio. There are two mics in the mix, too.
What’s extra?
The Harry Potter Edition comes with a Hogwarts logo on the back. It includes a themed protective case, a carrying bag with a strap, a wand-type stylus with a replacement tip and stickers. The price is $374, around 20% higher than the regular model.
