Viewsonic is a company we’ve talked about before, as the maker of affordable tablets with Android, but now they’ve entered the Windows 8 game with a new model. The newcomer is called the ViewPad 116i S2 and can be seen below.
The product is pretty massive, weighing almost 1 kg and measuring 13.5 mm in thickness. The device is meant for work rather than for play and it comes with a 11.6 inch display, an Intel Ivy Bridge Celeron 1037U dual core processor, 4 GB of RAM and a 64 GB SSD. Viewsonic ViewPad 116i S2 also packs in a 2 megapixel camera, Skype chat software and it probably has a front camera as well.
There’s a 6000 mAh Li-Polymer battery inside, good enough for about 5-6 hours of usage, according to the device’s maker. The price tag is $653 and the design of the product is not flash at all, but the device is functional. I’m really curios to see how this device compares to a high end Acer tablet for example…
