Samsung just published the Android 4.0 ICS official update source code in the Open Source Release Center, for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 7 Plus and the Galaxy Note 10.1. What this does is allow the community of devs and hackers to create a custom ROM based on the official code.

If you have one of the tablets mentioned above you’ll probably get a custom ROM in the following days. If you’re a ROM developer you may want to enter the source link below and search for the above mentioned devices under codenames like N8000, P7500 and P6200. Looking forward to Jelly Bean getting the same treatment, but that may be months away. Last I heard Samsung was preparing to debut Android 4.1 as an update to its devices in Q3 this year and Q4 as well.

As usual delays are expected, but till then we’ll probably get CyanogenMod 10 with Jelly Bean included, since it’s in the works right now. I wonder if the Galaxy Note II will come with Jelly Bean or ICS preinstalled…
