Samsung is having a field day today, so after bringing the One UI 4.0 and Android 12 update to the Galaxy S20 and S10 series, it also brought it to the first gen Galaxy Z Flip. Now it comes to the Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ tablets.

So far the confirmations regarding One UI 4.0 have come from countries in Europe, from Austria to Bulgaria and from Italy to Romania. The new update for the Galaxy Tab S7 has the firmware version T870BXXU2CULC, while the Tab S7+ gets the firmware T976BXXU2CULC. It also includes the December 2021 security patch. If you own one of these tablets, you can check for the update by accessing the Settings area, then Software Update and then “Download and install”. You can also download the latest firmware from the Sammobile database, if you’re familiar with manual flashing.

One UI 4.0 brings Material You wallpaper theming, taking the base colors from the wallpapers and applying them to icons and menus. You can then choose from custom color palettes applied system-wide. There’s also the RAM Plus feature, that increases the RAM capacity by using storage. The widgets and widget picker have been redesigned and now the widgets are showing more detailed info at a glance. Media output on the lockscreen is now more accessible and the Quick Settings panel gets redesigned, with a new brightness slider, that’s bigger and easier to navigate.

Dark Mode gets smarter and the camera UI is more intuitive, with the levels of zoom and Pro Mode features better explained. Also Privacy is key here, with a list of apps that accessed your camera and mic for the past 24 hours and also a list for the last month. We also get a green symbol on the screen when the cam and mic are in use.
