Samsung is ready to debut a 5G tablet soon and apparently it’s going to be a model inspired by the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6. The newcomer will be the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 5G and it’s going to cost a pretty penny, if you’re asking me for a prediction. Maybe it even goes past $1000.
This may well be the first mainstream 5G tablet and Samsung definitely want to hype it up. We recently unboxed the Galaxy Tab S6 and found it to be the most powerful tablet around, thanks to the Snapdragon 855 CPU, dual camera and quad speakers. Not to mention the brand new stylus from Samsung… Anyway, the 5G model is codenamed SM-T866N and it recently started leaking.
Samsung already has some experience working with 5G devices, having already launched models like the Galaxy S10 5G, Galaxy Note 10 5G and Galaxy A90 5G, not to mention the ill fated Galaxy Fold. The 5G slate was already spotted on WiFi Alliance and Bluetooth SIG and it’s only a matter of time till it becomes official. I expect the CPU to stay the same and maybe we’ll get a top level specs list with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage, or maybe a crazy boost to 12 GB RAM and 512 GB of even 1 TB of storage.
The main camera definitely stays the same, but a front cam upgrade is not out of the question, for crisper videocalls on 5G. The design is definitely staying the same, stylus included at the back via magnet.
