Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 has just started receiving the One UI 2.5 update, which was rolled out recently to the Note 10 and S10 lineup. On the phones it brings Note 20 features and on the Tab S6 we get some Tab S7 features, as expected. Let’s see what’s new.
First of all, there haven’t been any UI changes in One UI 2.1 or 2.5 and maybe version 3.0 could bring some. The One UI 2.5 update comes with the September 2020 Android security patch. It also brings the Edge panel, Voice Recorder, AR Zone and improved Multi Window. You can split the screen into 3 sections now with Multi Window.
There’s also Wireless DeX now, letting you mirror the tablet’s screen on a Samsung TV from 2019 onwards. The new software also lets users request the WiFi network password from a nearby device that’s already hooked up to that network.
You can also see the quality of the WiFi connection, which will be labeled as Very Fast, Fast, Normal or Slow (only if the router supports that). One UI 2.5 has been confirmed as seeding in Germany for both the WiFi and 4G LTE models. It comes with firmware version number T860XXU3BTI2 and T865XXU4BTI1, respectively. The update should be available on all units in Germany over the next week or so. You can either go to Settings, Software updates and tap Download and Install, or get the firmware from the Sammobile archive, which can be installed via a PC with Windows.
