Samsung replies to the latest Amazon Kindle Kids and Amazon Fire HD 10 Kids Edition with a new kid-focused slate. It’s called Samsung Galaxy Tab A Kids Edition (2019) and it’s basically a Galaxy Tab A 8.0 with a protective case on it.

Samsung’s product is priced the same as the the regular version, while the Amazon Kids Edition tablets cost more. Galaxy Tab A Kids Edition (2019) comes with a bumper case on top of the Tab A 8.0 from July and also with a free trial version of Samsung Kids. It’s a library of fun and educational games, videos and books for kids ages 3 to 12. It’s also got a 30 day free trial with subscription priced at $8 a month or $60 a year.

Samsung Kids includes games from Sesame Street, Dreamworks, PBS Kids and National Geographic. Parents can set limits for the little ones, monitor and customize content for each kid. The product is priced at $150 and it ships on October 15th. The specs include an 8 inch 1280 x 80 pixel display, a Snapdragon 429 CPU and 2 GB of RAM, plus 32 GB of storage and a microSD card slot.

There’s an 8 megapixel main camera and a front 2 MP shooter for video calls. We also got stereo speakers, an audio jack and a 5100 mAh battery with the promise of 13 hours of functioning. There’s Android Pie in the mix and 4 colors for the bumper case.
