Aside from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 high end tablet, Samsung also announced a midrange slate today, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 model. It packs a Snapdragon 450 CPU and midrange specs, all detailed below.

The Tab A is meant for the general public, has no stylus and it’s meant more for video and music. The 10.5 inch screen offers a 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution and it’s based on an IPS LCD Panel. Aside from the Snapdragon 450 processor we also get 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage and a microSD card slot.

A main 8 MP camera is integrated here, plus a 5 MP front shooter. This device has 4 Dolby Atmos capable speakers and a generous 7300 mAh battery, like the Tab S4. It also brings an USB Type-C port, WiFi 802.11 a/b/n/ac, WiFi Direct and Bluetooth 4.2, as well as LTE. It weighs 529 grams and measures 8 mm in thickness.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.5 runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and it also has a special Kids Mode with 8 special apps for the little ones. There’s also something called Always On Daily Board, which is a sort of aggregator for daily info, including a watch, calendar, a digital library of pictures and more. SmartThings has also been included, used to control smart home items.

No price has been mentioned, but I expect something in the range of $300.
