Samsung is preparing to introduce the first plastic OLED display and that will happen on the Galaxy Note III, if recent rumors are true. SamMobile hinted at such a thing on Twitter recently and now the rumors have amplified.
The Galaxy Note III is expected at IFA 2013, together with the Galaxy Tab 3 series and that will happen in September. The new devices will go on sale in Q4 most likely and it appears that the new display will be thinner than the Note 2 screen and also adopt a RGB stripe pattern. The resolution remains a mystery, but it will probably be Full HD.
Last we heard, the Galaxy Note III was adopting a 5.99 inch screen and probably the bulk of Galaxy S4 specs, with minor improvements. It may also mark a jump to 3 GB of RAM, so don’t be surprised when that happens. I wouldn’t be surprised if the Snapdragon 600 of the Galaxy S4 is replaced with the Snapdragon 800, unless Exynos 5 Octa is the main choice of CPU.
