Panasonic just debuted a new Toughpad tablet, the FZ-A2 rugged model, unveiled during the Panasonic Automotive Innovation Summit in Barcelona. This is a 10.1 inch extra resilient model, that comes with an Intel Atom x5 processor.
The slate is expected to sell well and it’s meant for use in showrooms, automotive workshop sessions and similar environments. It’s also meant for people working in retail and hospitality industries. Bringing a fanless design, this is quite a slim model, at 16.4 mm in thickness and also light at 880 grams. Inside we find 4 GB of RAM and a quad core Intel Atom x5-Z8550 CPU.
There’s Android 6.0 Marshmallow as the OS, plus Android for Work Enterprise Security. The screen offers a Full HD resolution and high brightness and the Toughpad FZ-A2 brings USB Type C connectivity, a custom 2D barcode reader and smartcard reader, as well as 4G LTE. It has been drop tested from heights of up to 1.2 meters and it’s both water and dust resistant.
Also it works between minus 10 degrees Celsius and plus 50. Its price is $1,357 and it’ll debut in July.
