We’ve been speculating on a Nokia tablet for about 3 years now and this is probably the first time we may be on to something. The device pictured below is supposed to be the first Nokia Windows RT tablet prototype, that will turn into a finished product soon.
The images were posted in the Windows Phone Central Forums by Rubik_H2CO3 and of course, we take them with all the precaution possible. The specs are slightly dated, if you ask me: Nvidia Tegra 3 1.3 GHz processor, 2 GB of RAM, HDMI out, USB port, SIM slot and a 16 point touchscreen. Windows RT is the OS of choice and it’s important to mention that the prototype was dropped because of the Tegra 3 chipset.
The Nokia logo is printed on the back directly and otherwise one would think this was a new Surface slate. The analysis of the picture doesn’t seem to reveal any alterations, so it may be the real deal. With Tegra 4 already out, it would be a pity for Nokia not to take advantage of it, although Microsoft seems to push them closer to Qualcomm and Intel.
