Barnes & Noble is preparing a new Nook tablet and a bunch of leaked benchmarks are confirming the existence of the product. It appears that the slate will feature an Nvidia Tegra 4 chipset and below you can see the first results related to its graphics performance.

The leak comes via GFX Bench, showing us a Barnes & Noble tablet with a CPU clocked at 1.8 GHz. This one is an Nvidia Tegra 4 processor and we’ve got an unknown diagonal size here, but the model number BNTV800 makes us think of an 8 incher for some reason. We shouldn’t read too much into the codename, since the Nook Glow has a 6 inch screen and a model number BNVR500-A.

Also, you should know that this Tegra 4 Nook hasn’t reached the FCC yet, so we’re weeks away from its launch, if not more. We can’t say if the product will be ready in time for Christmas, but it will certainly miss Black Friday, that’s for sure. In order to compete with the latest Amazon slates and the iPad Mini Retina, this model would need to have a high res screen as well. We’ll see…
