Today, in New York at the Microsoft press conference a new Surface model was been unveiled, the Surface Pro 3 tablet, a device that comes with a 12 inch display and with a redesigned kickstand. Unfortunately, as some rumors suggested, the Surface Mini tablet wasn’t released.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 it’s in the same time both a tablet and a laptop, functions that it can easily fill thanks to the powerfull processors, the RAM memory and to the many ways to use it with the integrated kickstand. The new Surface tablet comes with a 12 inch display with a 2160 x 1440 pixel resolution, a click-in keyboard and a Surface Pen stylus.
This Windows 8.1 tablet will be available on the market in three different processor configurations: Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7. Also, the Surface Pro 3 will allow users to choose different storage options between 64 – 513 GB and 4 or 8 GB of RAM memory.
On the connectivity side we have a full USB 3.0 port for the peripheal devices, a Mini DisplayPort for image projection to a external display and a microSD card slot. The new kickstand found on the Surface Pro 3 tablet comes with a lot of ways to be used at different angles between 0 – 150 degrees. Also, the click-in keyboards will be available in 5 colors, and the bigger trackpads will offer now more stability in use.
Regarding the sizes, we find out that the Surface Pro 3 tablet weighs 798 grams and measures 292 mm in lenght, 200 mm in width and just 9.1 mm in thiness. Microsoft Surface Pro 3 will have a starting pricetag of $799 for the model with Intel Core i3 processor found inside. The tablet can be preordered starting tomorrow with the Surface Pro Type Cover and the Surface Pen Stylus.
