According to an official annoucement it seems that soon Qualcomm will start the mass-production of their first octa-core processor, the Snapdragon 615. We also find out that soon the american chip producer will release the new 64-bit processor Snapdragon 810 and the hexa-core chips Snapdragon 808.
While the Snapdragon 615 CPU’s will be produced for mid-range smartphones, the 64-bit chip will be built for the high-end smartphone devices that with the Snapdragon 810 or the Snapdragon 808 series will offer 4G LTE technology. We also find out that the processors from the Snapdragon 810 and Snapdragon 808 will be produced by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (TMSC) by using 2nm process. We expect that soon to see one of the first Android devices with 64-bit processors inside the case.
