After finding out that Apple is going to show new iPads on September 12th and Google also has an event on October 9th, it’s now the turn of Microsoft to come up with something special. They will be debuting new Surface devices at an event that has just been confirmed for October 2nd. We have details below.

The event takes place in New York and by the way the source has been informed that it’s very likely we won’t be seeing any trace of Surface Phone/Andromeda there. Still, there could be updates within the Surface series. I’m talking about a new Surface Studio, that has yet to updated sever since late 2016. A new Surface Pro is also due an update, since it was last bumped up in May 2017.

Plus, a new Surface Laptop is due a Core i9 or NVIDIA RTX treatment. We could also see 8th gen Intel CPUs inside, more RAM, higher resolutions and improved batteries and touchpads. New accessories will also appear, like the Surface Mouse, Pen or Dial. Intel added two extra cores to its processor lineup since the last Surface models came out, so an upgrade is required.

The last Microsoft hardware that came out was the Surface Go, but I haven’t seen much online traction for it so far. The Surface Pro is still one of the best performing tablets on the market, so that’s why its upgrade is so interesting. I also expect to see a demo of the future version of Windows 10.
