Microsoft’s big search for a new CEO has come to an end today, as Satya Nadella has been officially announced as the new CEO of the company. Bill Gates also announced that he was leaving the position of Chairman of the Board of Directors.
Nadella previously had the position of Executive Vice President of Microsoft’s Cloud and Enterprise Group. Gates praises the leader abilities of the new CEO and his business vision. The newly appointed executive officer has been a part of Microsoft since 1992 and spearheaded big technical shifts and strategies inside the company.
He was also instrumental in the evolution of cloud products and services. Meanwhile, Bill leaves his chairman position to become Technology Advisor and promises to dedicate more time to the company. Back to Satya Nadella, he is a 46 year old man born in India and is famous for his technical expertise and also his penchant for good business deals.
We’ll have to see if he’s as good at sales and marketing as Ballmer or Gates and how he’ll welcome Nokia to the Redmond giant.
