Steve Jobs and Bill Gates might have been rivals, but they were friends and visionaries. Some of these visions were common and I bet that Jobs wouldn’t have objected that much if a customized version of Office would come to the iPad… or would he?
The Daily claims that MS is preparing Office for its iPad descent next year and it will integrate perfectly with Office 365’s cloud-based service. iPad documents will be compatible with the desktop versions of Office and they’ll also be able to sync with the desktop Office with ease. Office for iPad will be priced around $10 per app, making it a similar product to iWork.
Microsoft has a big year ahead, with many challenges, such as finally getting a piece of the smartphone pie with Windows Phone, while Windows 8 approaches launch and maybe grabs a share of the tablet market on its own… Will they succeed? Will at least the Office for iPad make it big?
