HP’s TouchPad tablet was quite talked about last year, when it started off as something original and ended up as a fire sale $99 product. After that HP seemed to can everything mobile, from tablets to phones and webOS. Since then we’ve seen a lot of the 7 inch HP tablet that never made it to the market, but was left behind as a large number of unsold units. Now it appears that HP wants another go at the tablet thing…

This time they won’t use webOS and the Chicago Tribune is reporting that HP will be producing a number of tablets running Windows 8. HP must feel left out with everything that’s going around and they’ve probably heard the statistics that say tablets will dominate PCs in the future. Details on the new product are basically feeble at this point, but what we do know is that HP’s slate will feature cloud sharing and all the Windows goodness one can imagine.

I wonder if the CPU inside will be an Intel one or maybe a Qualcomm? HP will be trying to launch at least one Windows 8 tablet before the year and I hope everything works out for them, since it would be a pity to see such a great company failing… again. They already buried Palm after purchasing it, so why spoil their image even more?
