Remember when everybody got excited about the MeeGo and Maemo projects from Nokia and the cool prototypes they ran on? That same vibe and feel is brought back by the concept below, a Raspberry Pi pieced together with a portable iPhone keyboard. The result is a machine that’s a handheld Linux mini PC.
When hooked up to a monitor, it actually becomes a full fledged computer. DIY tinkerer and YouTuber N-O-D-E, this machine is dubbed Zero Terminal and it’s an all in one computer, that offers great portability and functionality in a small format. The recently unleashed Raspberry Pi Zero W is behind the processing power of the device, bringing WiFi and Bluetooth, as well as 512 MB of RAM and a mini HDMI port.
A 3.5 inch screen is also here, with a 480 x 320 pixel resolution and then we find a full USB port, a 1500 mAh battery and microUSB port for charging. The Zero Terminal integrates a pretty cheap iPhone 5 keyboard case, which seems to fit the unit seamlessly. The CTRL button isn’t available, so you have to remap another key for that purpose. This small Linux PC can be built by the fans using the instructions from here.
