GPD Win is a handheld gaming device, that we’ve come across on several Chinese retailers. Now there’s another GPD model spurring our interest, the GPD Pocket. This model is all about its alternative of Ubuntu and Windows and it’s basically a 7 inch touchscreen device with the abilities of both a laptop and a tablet.

It’s also big enough to fit inside a pocket and it’ll come with your choice of Windows 10 or Ubuntu 16.04 Linux. GPD has been showing off renders and mockup prototypes of the model, so there’s a bit of waiting to do till the finalized model appears. The finalized specs are still laid on paper already and they include a 7 inch IPS touchscreen with Gorilla Glass 3, plus an Intel Atom x7-Z8700 Cherry Trail CPU and 4 GB of RAM.

We also get 128 GB of storage, a 7000 mAh battery and all of that fits within an aluminum chassis. The pictures also reveal an USB Type C port, a full size USB port and a HDMI port too. A full size QWERTY keyboard is included for input sake and hopefully this new model will lack the bugs found on the GPD Win, that did cause some crashes for some users. There’s a lot of potential in this format.
