Surprisingly Apple didn’t bring any new hardware to WWDC 2016, even though speculations talked about fresh MacBooks. This means we may see these newcomers at next month’s iPhone 7 event and rumors about them are already appearing. One of them has to do with fingerprint scanning.
Apple is expected to bring new MacBook Pro models, with OLED strips above the keyboard, plus a fingerprint scanner embedded in the Power button. The info comes from a solid 9to5Mac source, that supplied legit info before. The Power button of the MacBook may receive Touch ID integration and it’s not very clear how the system will work.
Obviously, a tap will log you into the OS, let you shop with Apple Pay or log into websites. There are already code references to such features in MacOS Sierra, both to the OLED bar and the Touch ID scanner. We’re also waiting for an USB Type C port with Thunderbolt 3 capacity and more goodies. MagSafe may be gone…
