Tablets and smartphones have become an important part of gaming nowadays and titles running on them look better and better. So, it’s no wonder that Nvidia showed off 5 new Tegra 3 games at E3 2012. Just a quick reminder on some of the devices that use Tegra 3 processors: HTC One X, ASUS Transformer Pad 300, ASUS Transformer Prime and supposedly the ASUS Nexus tablet…
The 5 games shown by Nvidia are Dead Trigger, Puddle THD, Demons’ Score THD, Bounty Arms and Heroes Call. Dead Trigger is pictured above and looks like a horror shooter with zombies fit into it. It’s cute to see a Shadowgun poster in it, so cross promotion is here already. This is a FPS title that seems to have a pretty old school bazooka available, among others.
Puddle THD is pictured above and this game is already famous, but on other platforms, like Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network. This title involves simple and intuitive game mechanics, so all you have to do is guide the water to a target destination via tilting controls. Tegra 3 gives you higher resolution textures, advanced fluid effects and better shadows. And below there’s another shot from the title Demons’ Score THD:
This is a break-beat action game, that integrates music with battles. It relies on the brand new Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3 and gives the player high quality 3D graphics and an UI optimized for phones and tablets. Advanced bloom effects, rim lighting and dynamic shadows are available. Below you can find a shot from Bounty Arms, a side scrolling 3D game, playable at E3 already.
Bounty Arms will be a Tegra exclusive title for Android, with contributions from Open Reset and Luma Arcade. Co-op play and advanced particle effects are available. And finally, the last picture below shows an action RPG, called Heroes Call, with deep quests, multiple characters and varied abilities. Great character weapons and additional physics interaction on objects are also in the mix.
