Singapore will equip its troops and recruits and with iPad 2 units starting November, in an attempt to bring a more modern touch to the military. Eight thousand devices will be distributed to the armed forces, that will also get custom apps and the possibility to upload footage and stills to an education platform.
What’s really interesting is that in Singapore the able-bodied male citizens are required to serve for two years, so this means that a large part of the population will get to use an iPad 2. Right now, US Marine Corps are already using iPads instead of paper charts and drawings, so it is a logical step in technological evolution.
What about Android slates?
