If you need a tablet that can take a pounding, we’ve got the Algiz 10x model for you, a device built for the outdoors experience. This is a tablet PC that’s rugged and packs a 10 inch display. It’s made to resist weather elements and drops without sustaining heavy damage.

Its screen is also ruggedized to meet IP65 requirements. Algiz X10 meets the MIL-STD-810G standards for resistance against dust, water, vibration, drops, extreme temperatures and high altitude. It weighs 2.9 pounds, it’s 1.2 inches thick and its screen uses MaxView technology to make it readable outdoors. Other features include a u-blox GPS receiver, Bluetooth 4.0, integrated WiFi and Gobi 3000 support for mobile broadband. Other specs include a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash and a lot of connectivity options.

Algiz 10x is also equipped with a waterproof USB port, VGA output and RS 232 output. The brain of this device is an Intel Atom N2800 dual core CPU and 4 GB of RAM accompany it. The slate uses a SSD for storage, but the capacity is not specified, although we know that the product is Windows 8 ready. It ships in January 2013 at an unknown price.
