Acer has been speculated for some time now to be preparing an 8 inch tablet with Windows 8 and now it has come through with the product. The device is the Acer Iconia W3, pictured below and detailed on Acer’s official website.
The product already appeared on Amazon and at the FCC, so today’s official site publication is basically a formality. The first 8 inch Windows 8 tablet from Acer will launch at $380 and this is only one of the upcoming models with a diagonal that’s smaller than 10 inches. The specs of the new model include an Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor, Windows 8 Pro, 2 GB of RAM and a 64 GB SSD.
There’s also WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, microHDMI, microUSB and microSD. The battery life of the Acer Iconia W3 should be around 8 hours and as shown in the pictures, we’ll also get an interesting keyboard dock. Said dock is quite a bit wider than the tablet. The Amazon listing from a few weeks ago mentioned a 1280 x 800 resolution, 2 MP cameras and 3500 mAh battery. We’ll see how this plays out…
