Acer is positioning its new Iconia X14 and Iconia X16 as more than oversized Android tablets. Both models can accept video over USB-C, a feature that lets them work as portable external displays for a compatible laptop or other device. That capability could be the central appeal of these large OLED slates, which Acer introduced at IFA 2026 in Berlin.
The two tablets run Android 16 and use 16:10 OLED panels at 1,920 by 1,200 resolution with a 60Hz refresh rate. Their MediaTek Helio G80 processors, 6GB of LPDDR4X memory, and 128GB of eMMC storage place them well below performance-focused tablets, but the combination of a built-in tripod stand, optional keyboard, and video input creates a different kind of portable-computing proposition.
Two sizes, with the X14 getting the stronger panel
The Iconia X14, model X14-21M, has a 14-inch OLED display rated for 400 nits of brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color coverage. The larger Iconia X16, model X16-21M, stretches the same resolution across 16 inches, with a 300-nit rating and 95% DCI-P3 coverage. The X16 offers more physical workspace, while the X14 has the advantage in brightness, color coverage, and pixel density.

An active stylus and detachable keyboard will be sold separately.
Built for lighter Android work and secondary-screen use
The Helio G80 platform should be suited to browsing, streaming, documents, and less demanding Android apps rather than intensive multitasking or high-end gaming. Both tablets also include a microSD slot supporting cards up to 2TB, an 8MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, four speakers, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.0.
Each model has two USB-C ports, including one that supports video input, as well as screen-casting support. That gives the devices a role most large Android tablets do not have: a 14- or 16-inch OLED screen that can switch from standalone entertainment and education use to an external display without requiring a separate portable monitor.
Acer rates the shared 8,000mAh, 30.4Wh battery for up to 10 hours of use. Actual endurance will depend heavily on brightness, app workload, and whether the tablet is being used as a display, but the shared battery specification is notable given the difference in screen size.
North American availability is planned for late 2026
Acer says the Iconia X14 and X16 are scheduled to reach North America and EMEA in the fourth quarter of 2026. Pricing has not been announced. The X14 appears to be the more balanced option for buyers who want a large Android screen that remains relatively transportable, while the X16 is aimed more squarely at users who can make use of a portable 16-inch OLED monitor that also runs Android. Their value will ultimately depend on how Acer prices the display-focused hardware.
