Motorola has expanded its Moto Pad 70 lineup with a 12.1-inch model that will be offered with 5G, joining the Pro and Groove versions introduced in recent weeks. The new Moto Pad 70 was officially announced in India, with a more conventional formula than its siblings: a 2.5K 90Hz display, Dimensity 6400 processor, bundled stylus, and 10,200mAh battery.
Motorola is now covering several distinct tablet niches. There is already the more powerful Moto Pad 70 Pro and the recently released Moto Pad 70 Groove, which is heavily focused on multimedia. The standard model skips the Pro’s more powerful Snapdragon chip and the Groove’s unusual nine-speaker system, but adds 5G and maintains a relatively slim design.

The display is large enough for split-screen work and media consumption, while Moto Pen support comes included. Motorola also adds AI features for rewriting, summarizing, and continuing text, including tools designed for stylus use. The Moto Folio keyboard remains a separate accessory. The tablet has a metal chassis, weighs 530 grams, and measures 6.29mm thick in its Wi-Fi version or 6.49mm in the 5G model.
Software is a less compelling part of the package. The Moto Pad 70 ships with Android 16 even though Android 17 is already available, and Motorola promises an eventual upgrade to the newer version plus three years of security updates. In practice, one of its promised major updates is needed simply to reach the Android version available at launch.
The Moto Pad 70 goes on sale in India on August 15. The 8GB/128GB version costs 33,999 Indian rupees, or roughly $390 at current exchange rates, while the 256GB model is priced at 36,999 rupees, or about $425. Motorola has not detailed U.S. availability in the Indian launch announcement. Motorola lists the tablet in Pantone Sea Angel, with the Moto Pen included in the box.
