Huawei remained China’s leading tablet vendor in the second quarter of 2026, with a 27.1% market share. Apple followed at 24.0%, while Lenovo made a strong move into third place, according to IDC data also published by Huawei Central. The rankings mask a contracting market: shipments reached 7.96 million units, down 4.4% from Q2 2025.

The key distinction is between consumer and commercial demand. Commercial shipments rose 67.1%, aided in part by purchases brought forward ahead of expected price increases, while the consumer market declined 9.8%. The vendor rankings therefore look healthier than demand from ordinary buyers.

Huawei Leads China’s Tablet Market, but Lenovo Is Closing In During Q2 2026

China’s top five tablet vendors

RankVendorQ2 2026 shareYear-over-year share change
1Huawei27.1%+2.1 pp
2Apple24.0%-0.9 pp
3Lenovo15.6%+6.2 pp
4Xiaomi9.6%-4.4 pp
5Honor7.2%-2.4 pp

pp = percentage points. IDC’s figures point to two clear share winners: Huawei and, especially, Lenovo, which recorded the largest gain among the top five vendors.

Huawei strengthened its premium lineup with the MatePad Pro Max, while advance commercial orders also supported its performance. Lenovo gained ground with both its Xiaoxin and Legion series; its China lineup includes the gaming-focused Legion Y700 (2026). Xiaomi, meanwhile, fell from roughly 14% to 9.6% despite refreshing its lineup this year with the Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro.

IDC expects cost pressure to continue through the second half of 2026 and into 2027. That could mean higher prices, longer replacement cycles, and stiffer competition in price-sensitive segments. For now, Huawei leads Apple by 3.1 percentage points, while Lenovo is the vendor that gained the most ground over the past year.
