Xiaomi’s Pad 9 Pro Max is rumored to be a 13-inch tablet with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, according to new information published by GizmoChina . The model is expected in September and would sit at the top of a three-tablet lineup alongside the Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro. Xiaomi appears to be giving the “Max” designation meaningful hardware upgrades.

The leak points to a roughly 13-inch display, including a “soft-light” option intended to reduce reflections, as well as a red colorway. One prototype reportedly has 8GB of RAM, while retail configurations could reach 16GB of RAM with 512GB or 1TB of storage. Other claimed specifications include a battery above 10,000mAh, 120W charging, and a weight of around 650 grams. These details remain unconfirmed for the final product.

Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro Max leak points to red finish, up to 1TB storage, and a September debut

The gap from the rest of the family is beginning to look substantial. Early reports on the Xiaomi Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro suggested more compact models, while later leaks have pointed to 11.2-inch and 12.5-inch displays for the Pad 9 and Pad 9 Pro, respectively, with 45W and 67W charging. The Pro Max would therefore step up in both screen size and charging power.

The bigger story may be the processor. Xiaomi has already introduced the XRING O3, its new 3nm flagship chip, and has confirmed the Pad 9 Pro Max as one of the first devices to use it, alongside the Xiaomi 18 Fold. The processor has a 10-core CPU, is manufactured by TSMC, and supports LPDDR6 memory. Xiaomi is expanding its in-house silicon beyond phones, following the path it began with the XRING O1 generation.

Digital Chat Station goes further, claiming the Pad 9 Pro Max will be the least expensive way to get the XRING O3. There is no pricing yet to test that claim, but the positioning is plausible: the Xiaomi 18 Fold is expected to be a premium foldable, while a tablet could bring the same chip to a less expensive form factor. For now, the Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro remains the current-generation reference point, with an 11.2-inch display and Snapdragon 8 Elite.

The Xiaomi Pad 9 series is expected to launch in September, and the company has already confirmed that the Pad 9 Pro Max will use the XRING O3. Its memory configurations, red finish, battery above 10,000mAh, and roughly 650-gram weight are leak-based claims and should be treated accordingly until the full announcement.
