RedMagic is taking its latest gaming hardware global with the launch of the Astra Gaming Tablet, previously released in China as the Red Magic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro. Designed from the ground up for serious mobile gamers, the Astra brings top-tier internals, gamer-focused features, and a slick OLED screen with ultra-fast refresh rates. Global sales kick off on July 16, following an Early Bird program from July 10–15 that includes discounts and freebies.

At the heart of the Astra is a 9.06-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 2400×1504 resolution, buttery-smooth 165Hz refresh rate, and peak brightness up to 1600 nits. The screen is flanked by uniform 4.9mm bezels for a sleek look and 90.1% screen-to-body ratio. Gamers sensitive to screen flicker will appreciate the 5280Hz PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland certifications for low blue light and flicker-free viewing.

Under the hood, the Astra Gaming Tablet runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite—the current top-tier Android chip—built on a 3nm TSMC process and cooled by a combination of liquid metal, a large vapor chamber, and an active cooling fan. According to RedMagic, this setup reduces heat by up to 8°C under load. Supporting the chipset is the Red Core R3 Pro co-processor, which handles frame rate tuning, AI-powered gaming tweaks, and super-resolution rendering.

Users can configure the tablet with up to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM (clocked at 9600Mbps) and 1TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage. Redmagic OS 10.5, based on Android 15, powers the software experience. It includes the Cube Game Engine for performance management, the Super Workbench for multitasking and productivity, and Magic Companion 2.0, an AI assistant.

The 8,200mAh battery supports 80W fast charging and bypass charging—which lets users game directly off the charger without heating up the battery. RedMagic claims a 0–50% charge in around 20–22 minutes. The tablet’s USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 port allows for external display output at up to 8K/60Hz or 4K/144Hz.

The Red Magic Astra Gaming Tablet is available globally in Eclipse Black and Starfrost Silver, with the 24GB variant coming in black only. It launches in regions including North America, Europe, the UK, Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and the GCC.
