It’s been quite the wait for the follow-up to the Xiaomi Pad 5, almost two years now, but it’s finally happening. Today we get some intel on the upcoming tablets, the Xiaomi Pad 6 and Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, which have begun their internal regional testing.
The Xiaomi Pad 6 is known under the codename Pipa and the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro is known as Liuqin. It’s pretty likely that they will show up during the Xiaomi event that’s scheduled at MWC 2023. Known tipster Mukul Sharma has confirmed that both tablets have entered testing phase in some European and Eurasian regions. They will have Snapdragon 8 series chips powering them and they could debut in Q2 2022.
Previous reports did mention an odd decision, which left the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro exclusively available in China. The Snapdragon 870 processor is rumored for the first model, the Pad 6, while the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 appears on the Pad 6 Pro. Both slates will arrive with 11 or 12 inch screens with slim bezels. They also have dual camera configurations and dual cell batteries.
Earlier leaks mentioned an AMOLED display on the Pad 6 Pro with a 2880 x 1880 pixel resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. There are also quad speakers, NFC, keyboard and stylus support.
