Huawei debuted a new and powerful tablet a few weeks ago and now that tablet has become available. It’s the Huawei MatePad Pro, an iPad Pro rival and also a Galaxy Tab S6 rival. It comes with a Kirin 990 CPU and it also has a 5G version.
MatePad Pro went on sale over the past 24 hours on Vmall and it’s priced at $454. That’s the 6 GB RAM, 128 GB storage version and just in case you want the 5G version, that one is coming in 2020. The Huawei MatePad Pro packs a 10.8 inch screen with an IPS LCD panel and a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels. It has narrow bezels, 4.9 mm in size and there’s also a 90% screen to body ratio. Specs include a Kirin 990 CPU, 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 512 GB of storage.
There’s also a large 7250 mAh battery with 40W fast charging and also with 7.5 reserve wireless charging. There’s 15W wireless charging and there’s other appealing stuff, like quad speakers, Android 10 with EMUI 10 and GPS (LTE version only). There’s a 13 megapixel back camera, a singular one, in spite of the rumors talking about a dual back cam. There’s also PDAF and a LED flash, plus an 8 megapixel selfie camera cut in the screen.
There’s also stylus (M Pencil) support with 4096 levels of pressure sensitivity. The stylus charges wirelessly by attaching to the device, like the Galaxy Tab S6 one. For now the product only sells on Vmall, an online store in China. There’s also a keyboard for it bought separately.
