Remember GPD? They had a few mini laptops and gaming consoles with Windows that showed some promise and now they’re prepping yet another mini laptop, an 8.9 inch model dubbed GPD P2 Max. It has an 8.9 inch screen and it should start being crowdfunded on June 26th.

Preorders will be taken via Indiegogo and a campaign that starts on June 26th, at 10:00 AM (Beijing time). P2 Max is a 1.5 pound laptop, that packs an 8.9 inch 2560 x 1600 pixel touchscreen display. It can be bought with a CPU up to an Intel Core m3-8100Y processor and up to 16 GB of RAM, plus up to 512 GB of storage. Interestingly, while this is a small notebook, it’s actually one of the largest that GPD has made so far.

Usually you could cram them into the pocked, but you can’t do that here. There will be two configs at launch:

  • Intel Celeron 3965Y/8GB/256GB: $529 ($635 retail)
  • Intel Core m3-8100Y/16GB/512GB: $705 ($842 retail)

This device will compete with the likes of One Mix 3S Yoga, an 8.34 incher with an Intel Core m3 CPU, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage and a $900 price tag. Chuwi also has an alternative called MiniBook and it’s priced at $530. A YouTuber dubbed the Phawx has already unboxed the device, as shown above.
