Chuwi has a newly available tablet, dubbed HiPad which just started selling over the past days. We’re dealing with a sub $200 device, that packs 3 GB of RAM and 4G LTE, plus a pretty sexy design.
Looking at the back of the Chuwi HiPad, I’m kind of getting some gaming vibes. It reminds me of the Lenovo Legion PCs or the ZTE Nubia Red Magic gaming phone. There’s a 10 core CPU inside making it all work, a deca core MediaTek Helio X27 CPU. It’s accompanied by dual SIM slots, another big plus you don’t see on better known tablet brands. This unit has a metal body and arrives with a 10.1 inch screen with 1920 x 1200 pixel resolution.
The gaming part is taken care of by an ARM Mali T880 MP4 GPU and we also get 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage. On the connectivity front there’s an USB Type-C port and an audio jack, plus 4G LTE (on the dual SIM slots). Bluetooth 4.1 is also here, while the lights are kept on by a pretty impressive 7000 mAh battery.
Stereo speakers complete the multimedia package and there’s both a 5 MP back camera and a 5 MP front shooter. It all comes in at 9.4 mm in thickness and a weight of 490 grams. Chuwi’s HiPad ships this month priced at just $160. That’s the promise at least, since AliExpress currently lists the product at $200.
