India may be Lenovo’s playing field, since they’re getting solid results on the tablet market, but Microsoft also wants a foothold there. As such, they’re debuting locally the Microsoft Surface Pro, a move that was expected for many months now. The product starts at $999.
Launched in USA last summer, the Surface Pro tablet took its time to get to India. Interestingly, Microsoft skipped the first two generations of Surface in India, but the Surface Pro 3 and Pro 4 came there in January 2016. The Surface Book still isn’t available there. The starting price of $999 brings locals an Intel Core m3 model, with 128 GB of SSD storage, 4 GB of RAM and Intel HD Graphics 615.
There’s also a Core i5 version with 128 GB of SSD storage at $1230. You can go as high as Intel Core i7, 512 GB of SSD and 16 GB of RAM, plus Intel Iris Plus Graphics 640 for $2814. The new Surface Pro will be available on Amazon and Flipkart, plus leading offline stores, like Croma, Reliance Digital, Vijay Sales and other retailers. For commercial customers, the slate will come to over 130 commercial resellers.
Accessories are also available, like the Surface Pro Type Cover (black), Surface Pro Signature Type Cover, Surface Pen and Microsoft Surface Arc Mouse.
